The center is funded by the Dr. K. H. Eberle Foundation, which has awarded a research prize of 250,000 euros. The Dr. K. H. Eberle Foundation, based in Lörrach, awards an annual prize for scientific projects at the University of Konstanz. The prize is intended to initiate forward-looking, innovative and courageous research projects and hence make an important contribution to the enhancement of the university's scientific profile.
